아비뇽 페스티벌의 ‘한국어 초청언어’가 남긴 것과 새로운 시작

2026년 아비뇽 페스티벌에서 한국어 작품 및 한국 예술가의 참여가 이루어진 경험을 바탕으로, 이번 초청의 과정과 의미를 함께 돌아본다. 예술가와 페스티벌 관계자의 서로 다른 관점에서 ‘한국어’라는 언어와 한국 공연예술이 국제적인 축제의 장에서 어떻게 소개되고 수용되었는지 살펴보고, 실제 협업과 참여 과정에서 마주한 과제와 가능성을 공유한다.

이번 라운드 테이블에서는 단순한 초청의 성과를 돌아보는 데 그치지 않고, 참여 과정에서 얻은 경험과 배움을 바탕으로 한국 공연예술의 국제적 유통과 교류를 지속적으로 확장하기 위한 다음 단계를 모색한다.

Reflection and new beginning of “Invited Korean Language” at Festival D’Avignon

Drawing on the experience of presenting Korean-language works and the participation of Korean artists at the 2026 Festival d’Avignon, this roundtable reflects on the process and significance of the invitation. From the differing perspectives of artists and festival representatives, it explores how the Korean language and Korean performing arts were introduced and received on the international festival stage, while sharing the challenges and possibilities encountered throughout the collaboration and participation process.
Rather than simply reflecting on the achievements of the invitation, this roundtable seeks to identify the next steps toward the continued expansion of international circulation and exchange for Korean performing arts, building on the experiences and insights gained through the process.
